How, with the knowledge you will learn in this series about how the Unconscious works in individuals and in groups (the collective), you would have understood why just after the Democratic Presidential debate on Wednesday, January 26, 2000, Mr. Laughlin predicted in writing the following – all of which has now come true:

• Bill Bradley self-destructed, will not win a single primary, and ended his hope to be President,
• The Republican party bosses will destroy McCain and win Bush the nomination,
• Gore will win not only win the nomination, but the Presidency, and by running Bush the Republicans run the tremendous risk of losing the Senate and the House as well,

John McCain has triggered off the most powerful instinct in the Unconscious of the American public – and could, if he runs as an Independent with an exciting Vice Presidential candidate, gain far more votes than Perot did in 1992, and against odds that are more than overwhelming, could actually win the Presidency.
   Every human being has two basic sides to his or her personality – the wonderful person we present to others that we want them to think we are in order to be accepted and loved (the Persona), and a hidden unknown side that consists of all our faults, defects, weaknesses and deficiencies that we are ashamed of and not only keep from others at all costs, but even keep from ourselves (the Shadow).
   In addition, every group and every institution, including political parties, also have a Persona side and a Shadow side, and there can be no meaningful political change or social change until each of us develops the capacity to see through the Persona side of the individual or the institution in order to discover what’s secretly going on in their Shadow side. Party leaders are shocked at how quickly the Shadow side and the vulnerability of George W. Bush and Bill Bradley have been seen by the American voter.
   This series will open up the Unconscious psyches of individual political candidates, people in power, and institutions of every kind, political and otherwise. You will discover the Shadow and true character behind the public image Madison Avenue and expert political consultants spin for each candidate and cause, you will learn how to know which candidates are genuine, and have a healthy connection to their Unconscious, and which candidates have serious problems hidden in their Unconscious but clearly visible to those who know how the Unconscious operates.
